potty training pointers?
bella's going to be starting ballet soon, and since camille would like to as well.. we're on operation: POTTY TRAIN! each kid is so different, i see that with my 2. with bella, it took about a week, a lot of accidents, and still a diaper at night for about 2 weeks.. so, pretty fast and efficiently successful. what seemed to work best over that week was having her diaper, pull-up, and undie free! she wore a t-shirt and leg warmers. she had a couple accidents on the floor (only very slight pee-pee kinds [on the hardwood floors]; thank god), but overall, seemed a lot more conscious of the "urge". what have been your experiences? successes? any advise?
house tour. the girls bedroom.
introducing, the pre-decorated bedroom. we have the basics done at this point. the cord kit and hanging lanterns from world market. we got the cord strips, to tuck the cord in the corner, from lowes. we got their bedspreads from bed bath and beyond. we wanted something a little less juvenile while still being girly and cute, this works perfectly. and their fluffy white shag rug is from target, they LOVE it!! they call it snow and make regular snow angles in it!! :)
like i said, we haven't decorated yet.. thus the bare walls. i'm thinking about butterfly wall decals to start, but i haven't committed to that yet.
all of the baseboard, trim, and doors are brand new; thus primed and not painted. they'll be bright white.. eventually. ;)
the closet shelf has served as a perfect spot for their tv/dvd player. it's shut outta sight while not viewing, and seen perfectly throughout the room while the door's open. it couldn't be more happy with the way that turned out.
i just love kid shoes, the really small ones are especially cute, but.. they just keep getting bigger, and bigger, and bigger. :(
and their clothes.. such cute little girl clothes. i must say, it's very fun to dress little girls daily.
well, that's that. i'll keep you up to date with post when the decorating begins!

house tour. kitchen, before / afters..
well, here's the before, in all it's 30+ year old wonder.
the wall that the table is against was shortened; at the opening, about 2 feet was removed.
the small dinning room was thru that little doorway (pictured below).. that wall has ceased to exist.
and the after. it's decorating time now. we have to paint, choose window dressings, placemats (and we're still waiting on the handles for the cabinets).. on and on. but, fun stuff.
more rooms to come. and updates with decor in the kitchen/dinning room.

breakfast! greek omelet
well, we're almost totally moved. at least, to the point that we're cooking (i'm cooking) at home. eating out all the time seems quite fancy, huh?... well, it wears off. fast. i plan on cooking every meal at home for a good several months! i have a whole new appreciation for a 'home cooked meal'. i'll share my dishes with you along the way!
